PROJECT STATEMENT:
'Seasons Numbered by the Inward Sun' focuses on materiality, process & the fragmentary nature of memory in the context of the photographic archive. It explores the generative potential of the photographic negative, as well as the status of the outtake, creating an experimental body of work using assemblage & repurposed images. The series engages with the archive as an active space of potential reinterpretation; emphasising elements of discontinuity & contingency rather than narrative cohesion.
